Wordless Wednesday: Crabapples
October 22, 2008 at 6:21 pm | Posted in Autumn, Wordless | 5 CommentsThese aren’t good for eating—the birds didn’t even want them this year. They are good however for whacking into the woods with an old tennis racket.
Any other ideas for getting rid of crabapples?

We had a crab apple tree when we lived in California and I taught the boys to throw them out into the street. They had fun and I was not bothered by the apples that the yard keeping up people seemed to constantly overlook.

The birds should eventually eat them when they run out of other food in the winter, if there is snow cover.

Yes, the birds will eat them eventually. Or, they might make an interesting craft project for Clare. Pick them, string them on twine, and let them dry–they’d likely look pretty as Christmas decor. They might even make nifty handmade ornaments.
